Using Infrared Heaters to Reduce Heating Costs
New solutions to old problems often arise out of necessity. This is absolutely the case in our situation for domestic heating. We bought an old farm house 5 years ago, apparently the previous owner threw in the winter in the free projects. Our first winter, the house was a wake-up call, we filled our oil tank is 7 times higher than in the winter! Heating oil has nowhere near the cost today, but it was still a very big hole in our budget.
Since that time we have added to and for updates to ourTo reduce our home heating bills. We have replacement windows is to install the 24 windows of the house, was added better insulation of doors and disadvantages of doors, has insulation in the basement, and we added insulation to the exterior walls of 4 rooms, we have a lot of redesign. It is absolutely a step in the right direction, winter drafts in our home is no longer strong enough to blow out a candle, and last year we only filled our oil tank 5 times in total retrieved.
This year, oil prices have risenso much that we were absolutely shocked when we filled our tanks for the first time in September. We have decided to lower the thermostat to 62 degrees, until we could find ways to economically efficient, we were able to complete our system of warm air heating. We were first on the pellet stoves and wood stoves. This idea was quickly discarded because labor costs to install heating and ventilation in our new house. In addition, we knew we would burn the purchase of fuel, and then it would be cheaper thanOil, it would be much trouble. Finally, we have been looking for something that is safe for my 4-year-old son and our Labrador would, and we were afraid of security issues as a hot griddle set May.
Then we turned to electric "chimneys" and then they seemed a little better, we felt they were not very efficient for their size and cost. They are quite big, and take a plant to put them in. It seems that one of the chimneys were worth out of our price range. TheAlternative seems to be that small, portable heaters, or convection or ceramic types. We have also set about them in our house, because they are all hot to the touch, and if I were worried in the past, they seemed to really create problems with the "dry air and static electricity, the more they were used, and only one small area is heated relative to their size.
Then we came up with infrared emitters, we have from the first pages we've ever seen fascinated, because he claimed that the device does notnot warm to, and because they do not use forced air, no moisture was lost in your house. One of the leading infrared emitters is EdenPURE, indicating that infrared heaters are designed with three principles in mind, efficiency, comfort and security that is exactly what we wanted!
The heater works when the electricity generating infrared light that is the safest form of heat, because it is not hot, as described here. In addition, infrared technology requires less energyto generate heat, which makes it much cheaper to use than other forms of heat. When you run the infrared heater all day at full power, you will see an increase of approximately $ 1.50 $ 2.00 per day. We doubt that you can use the heater that much, though. We bought a unit, the heat up to 1000 square meters will be. It heats very quickly and you can feel the heat for about 5 minutes away from the heater. The air is dry, as is usual, and my son does not get nose bleeds and sinusProblems, as he usually during the winter months. In recent months, since the preservation of our heating, we have a change in our electric bill by about $ 0.30 per day, not bad noticed that we have set our oven thermostat to 60 degrees now.
Another feature we want in the infrared heating system, the size and portability, it weighs less than 30 pounds and is very easy on wheels, capable of heating, if we move to another room. The exterior is made of black plastic with a woodenFacade and is not really noticeable in the room. We bought the heater comfort zone 1500P, which can be accessed here. It is run very quietly, we often forget it on. Our goal is to at least one filling the oil tank in this year, saving more than what you pay for the heater itself. The way we go, we are pleased with the purchase of an infrared heating system of our smaller space for next year! Infrared emitters are wonderfully safe and effective supplement your heating system at homeand is the best, they will not break your budget!
